Whistle While You Work

Whistle While You Work

We live a great life, but many of us are too busy too remember!

What have you hung up to wait until you have time?

For many people work has now become the focal point of life. There is hardly a moment to squeeze in what things we used to think were invaluable, non discretionary; vital.

Family time, bbqs with friends, vacations, making love weekends, time to volunteer, sleeping in, hanging out, getting down, flying high - who has the time?

Time to read, journal, bake cookies, change your own automobile oil , hand wash and polish your car on a Saturday afternoon, play the piano, listen to the birds, go for walks, take your elderly neighbor or parent for a trip to the coffee shop or watch the sunset while you snuggle a child in your arms.

If we have forgotten how to live, no wonder we forgot how to whistle. The inner joy tank has very little fuel and what is there could never be wasted at work. We have to scrimp and save our emotional energy for birthdays and bedtimes, and even then, we cut them short claiming deep fatigue and lots yet to get done before tomorrow.

When is the last time you said YES to family fun and really wanted to do it?

My aim with HG CONSULTING AND PUBLISHING is to help others and myself enjoy life fully so that the overflow of joy is felt even at work! Our work is important and is ONE expression of who we are, but we have so many faces and I am quite confident people who love you would love to see your other faces more often!

It's not easy for me. I too can work until I drop and resent anyone telephoning on a summer evening for a "chat." That's where I have an advantage though. I have been here, done that and worn the ragged T-Shirt far too long. I lost valuable treasures along the way and have finally, just about got it in my head:

Life is just too wonderful, too luscious, too fragrant to let one more day go by without enjoying LIFE AS IS and allowing my work to feed into my overall experience.

I whistle a lot now. Neighbors here me, fellow hikers know I am coming down the trail, Ginger recognizes her mommy's chirping, and I warn you in advance:

I whistle while I work.

Live Your Best Life,

Harmony
