The statistics on the returns of innovation during uncertain times rings true. As Shakespeare said in "Julius Caesar",
"There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures."
The nature of mankind and its affairs hasn't changed since we began recording history, if not for much longer. We don't need to be told things near as much as we just need to be reminded.
